Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring to the cinema?
You must bring 2 things – a copy of the page from the newspaper where the offer was publicised AND you must bring a copy of your reservation. This can be a print out of the email you received or a print out of the web page with your ticket confirmation. It must have your valid Booking ID displayed.

I was not permitted to book tickets
A maximum number of tickets (generally either 2 or 4) is set for each film. Customers can only book up to that limit in order to allow as many people as possible to benefit for this offer.

There are no tickets left for the film I want to see
Tickets are offered on a first come first served basis. Sometimes we have tens of thousands of tickets to offer and sometimes just a few hundred. We always ask customers to cancel tickets if they find they cannot make it to a film. Where that happens, the tickets are reallocated in real time so keep an eye out and keep coming back.

Why did the booking system show no tickets left and yet the screen had empty seats?
Sadly, not everyone has the sense of responsibility to cancel their tickets when they find they can’t make it. We ask all customers to please cancel their tickets so they can be reallocated to others who want to see the film, but on occasion, people book tickets but don’t bother to turn up. We apologise on their behalf.

I didn’t receive my e-ticket
You can log onto the website at any time and enter your email address and date of birth in the RETRIEVE section to see a list of historic bookings. Select the booking you want to retrieve and click SEND EMAIL. Please ensure that you check your spam mail filter and that your email will accept emails from admin@offersinthetimes.com. A print-out of the web page with the booking confirmation will suffice but you must bring the original page with you that publicised the screening in the newspaper.

How do I cancel my tickets?
If you make a mistake on your booking or you can no longer make the screening, please cancel your tickets by going to the booking page and clicking the Cancel button. You will need your Booking ID number which is an 8 digit number which you will find on your ticket and in your confirmation email. If you lose this number you can retrieve it in the booking page by clicking Retrieve.

How do I receive advance notice of the next screening?
Times+ members receive advance notice of screenings and advance access to the booking system.

What type of identification do I need?
You won't always be asked for ID, but occasionally, cinemas will check that tickets aren't being copied. A driving license or credit card will be sufficient.

I would like to change the name on my tickets

Tickets are for the named person only and are only usable by Times and Sunday Times customers. If you are unable to use your tickets, please cancel them so that others may use them.

Why is this film not showing in my area?

We strive to screen films in as many locations as possible and change the locations regularly. It is ultimately the film distributor’s decision as to how many locations we may screen the film at.
